Party Off The Grid 2025 News

Blast from the past. Here’s a little POTG nostalgia for you all!

***This is a private event, and we aim to keep attendance limited to maintain a small footprint. You can invite others, but please don't invite more than a few extra folks and only those who will appreciate this type of underground event.***

Update 6/23/25

Wow, what a weekend! It's going to take a bit to unpack it all, literally and figuratively, but this one was special. Despite logistical challenges, sleep deprivation, the potential for terrible weather, and the world feeling like it's falling apart around us, we all collectively created some beautiful and experiential art in a beautiful and new setting. It was the kind of art that restores faith in humanity when we otherwise have every right to be cynical. We're really lucky to be part of such a talented and creative community. Thank you so much for making POTG #10 one of the best we've had!

And if you wanted to donate and didn't get the chance, you can send donations via Venmo to @Joshua-Faber-Hammond.

Thanks again. See you all next year in the woods, but hopefully way sooner than that.

Update 6/19/25

POTG will be at a NEW LOCATION this year. Disregard all previously posted coordinates. The new coordinates are 45.1756865, -121.4159783. After turning right off of NF48 onto NF170, DRIVE VERY CAREFULLY, there are potholes and major ruts along this road, but easy to navigate if you drive slow (~5mph).

These coordinates take you to a potential parking/staging area just before the Barlow Road intersection, which is where we are camping. Barlow road is a much rougher road, so from here, you can either drive further into camp if your vehicle has high clearance, or if you want to avoid the final major ruts you can stay parked in this area and hike gear in. From here, you may want to survey the camp on foot before proceeding. Most cars should be fine driving further into camp as long as you take it slow though.

If anyone has heavy gear to transport to the main camp and doesn’t want to through the Barlow road ruts, come find someone and we can drive your gear in from there.

We are taking over a fairly large area this year, so if anyone has wagons or carts to share for moving gear, please bring them.

Once you arrive at the Barlow road 4-way intersection, main camp is to the right, but there are additional camping sites just at intersection and to the left. There are plenty of camping and parking options all over though.

See you all soon!

PS: Here are photos of the signage at the turnoff for NF170

Update 6/17/25

Getting excited for all the music this weekend! If you've been checking the weather at all, you may have noticed the rain and potential for snow near Government camp. We will confirm after we arrive on site tomorrow, but it's looking likely we'll be heading to our backup site a bit further into the desert. The forecast for the closest town, Wamic, shows temps of roughly 10-15 degrees warmer and just a bit cloudy with a chance of some showers Saturday.

All that to say, prepare for chilly and possibly wet weather. Please bring popups if you have them and a bundle of firewood per car. We'll be stringing up tarps and weatherproofing camp as much as possible, but it's never a bad idea to be extra prepared.

Also, the backup site has significantly less parking than our main site, so please carpool if possible. Trish posted a thread for coordinating rides on the Facebook event page, and there were a few people still looking for rides. Check it out, and post if you have any space.

See you all in the woods soon!

We are watching the weather closely and based on the forecast the location will be decided and posted a day or two before the event. Our possible sites have plenty of camping but limited parking, so PLEASE CARPOOL if possible.

Weather can change in an instant. Right now it's looking chilly and maybe wet in one spot and dry and warmer in our backup spot. Just in case, bring cold weather and rain gear, but fingers crossed for sun and warmth.

The GPS coordinates for the primary camp site will be 45.257539, -121.613866, and for the backup site they are 45.205897,-121.478924. We will make the call right before the event depending on the weather forecast, and there is a small chance we may find a new location, so stay tuned. For the main campsite, it should take just about an hour and a half to get out there from Portland, and Government Camp is relatively close by.

The backup site is an extra 15-20 minutes away. The roads are pretty well maintained all the way out, but there are usually some pretty gnarly potholes, so drive cautiously. This is a high elevation area, so it’s possible that it will be cold and there can be mosquitoes before the sun goes down. Again, prepare accordingly.

Bring as many pop-ups, tarps, ropes and bungees as you can so we can build a tarp city if necessary. Also, bring at least one bundle of FIREWOOD per carload, more if you can fit it. A lot of the wood around our site might be wet or picked clean.

Things we highly recommend you bring:
-Donations (Although the event is free, we are paying for gas for generators, infrastructure, and other various supplies. You can send donations via Venmo to @Joshua-Faber-Hammond)
-Firewood (at least one or two bundles per car would help)
-Trash bags (Pack out what you pack in, obviously)
-Trowel & TP (No facilities, you're in the woods so be prepared to dig a hole)
-Cold weather/rain gear
-Tarps/rope/bungies
-Sunscreen
-Bugspray
-Food/beer/water (at least enough for yourself for the weekend)
-Tent/sleeping bags
-Camping chairs
-Flashlights/lanterns
-Extra things highly encourage you to bring if you have them:
-Instruments
-Art
-Inflatable Furniture!!!
-Pop-up canopies
-Portable tables
-Outdoor games, and specifically bocci ball sets if you have them. We often organize a mega bocci ball game.
-Cool lights (battery powered or solar charged is good, rope lights are great too)

Thanks for joining us. Can't wait to camp and make music with all of you. See you in the woods next weekend!!!
